Enhancing the visual appeal of public spaces across Kano State. This department plays a key role in transforming urban areas into cleaner, greener, and more attractive environments.

Main Functions of the Beautification Department:

1. Urban Beautification Projects:

Designing and implementing beautification projects such as roadside gardens, roundabouts, public monuments, and decorative lighting.

2. Floral and Landscape Design:
Planting and maintaining flowers, shrubs, ornamental trees, and grass in public areas including road medians, parks, and government buildings.

3. Maintenance of Green Spaces:
Regular trimming, watering, and upkeep of all landscaped and beautified areas to ensure cleanliness and appeal.

4. Seasonal Decorations:
Organizing seasonal or festive beautification (e.g., for Sallah, Independence Day, or cultural festivals) with banners, lights, and artistic displays.

5. Environmental Aesthetics:
Removing eyesores such as illegal posters, graffiti, and abandoned structures that spoil the appearance of urban spaces.

6. Support to Government Projects:

Collaborating with other ministries or agencies to include beautification elements in infrastructure or urban renewal projects.

7. Community Engagement:
Encouraging public participation through beautification campaigns, tree planting drives, and “clean and green” initiatives.

In essence, the Beautification Department is the creative and practical force behind making Kano’s urban environment more pleasant, welcoming, and environmentally friendly.
